Gel nails, along with gel polish, have become very popular and are trending almost everywhere around the world. But what exactly is the reason for the popularity of this type of manicure?
First and foremost, it's the durability. Who hasn't experienced applying a beautiful nail polish that gets scratched the next day and starts to fade by the third day? With gel nails, you get a long-lasting result that can last up to 3 weeks, provided the nails avoid bumps or knocks and the gel is applied correctly.
The gel consists of a thick, viscous substance that is applied on top of the nail in several layers. You can shape the nail according to the form you desire. If you choose to extend the nail with tips, the ability to shape the nail is more limited, as you do not have the same length to work with. It is important that the gel is allowed to cure under a UV or LED lamp between each application of gel. Depending on the system you use, the process can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Regardless, you end up with an irresistible and durable result.
With gel nails from Nail4You, you can bring the salon experience home to your living room. Our nail products cater to everyone, regardless of experience. Whether you are new to the nail universe or have been doing nails professionally, you will find everything you need to create beautiful nails with a durability of several weeks.
Gel polish, gellak, gellack, or gel nail polish? A beloved child has many names.
No matter what you call this durable polish, we know what you mean. We have chosen to call it gel polish and gellak. Gel polish is the name for a thin gel with color, essentially a nail polish in gel form.
Are you new to the nail universe, or have you been in the industry for a few years? Either way, you will find everything you need to create the most beautiful, durable nails. At Nail4You, we place a high emphasis on quality and always select the highest quality polish and accessories. When you buy our HEMA-free gellak, you get a groundbreaking polish that contains fewer chemicals without compromising on either quality or durability. The gel nail polish is easy to apply, and you achieve a luxurious, even, and flawless coverage.
All our gel products require an LED or UV lamp and therefore do not work like ordinary nail polish.
Acrylates are chemical compounds used in many different industrial and commercial applications due to their versatility. In the beauty industry, they are often used in nail products such as acrylic nails, gel nails, gel polish, and nail polish. It is not possible to create a UV-curing product without acrylates. One such acrylate commonly found in nail products is HEMA, which helps to cure the product. However, it is worth noting that HEMA can be allergenic for some people.
To ensure a safer use of our products, it is important to mention that our products do NOT contain HEMA or DI-HEMA. Our products are made without HEMA, DI-HEMA, formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and a wide range of other chemicals.
Over the past 18 years, it has been a priority for us to limit the use of acrylates in our products, and we have always complied with EU recommendations, consistently keeping to the lower end of the spectrum.
It's a question that is always difficult to answer. We do not test our systems with other brands' systems, so we cannot guarantee anything, but in theory, it should work. However, we recommend sticking to one system, as our systems are designed to work together.

If your gel nails come loose in the cuticle area, it is because your nails are improperly prepared or there is fat/oil on your nails. UV Gel must be applied to a dry, matte, and clean nail. It can also be due to lifting forming on your nail. This can be caused by your nail not being sealed properly. Imagine that your base coat and top coat are a set of arms—they have to hug all the remaining products you put in between. So the base coat and top coat must always meet all the way around the nail. Do you wipe between each layer? This can also be the reason why your products don't last and they fall off. Are you hitting the cuticles? If your products hit your cuticles, lifting will occur relatively quickly as the product cannot bond when it hits the cuticles. If you use tips, it is possibly because your nail tips are too smooth; buff them a little more with one of our nail buffers.
We recommend that you file the product off as it is gentlest on the skin. You can advantageously apply two layers of base coat so that you do not file into your natural nail. Our Gel polish colors can be soaked off in acetone, but this is not something we recommend. Alternatively, you can see our section in our free online course about filing techniques here:

It actually has nothing to do with the system, durability comes from the execution of your work.
It is always difficult to define which system is the easiest because it is always a matter of taste. However, our press-on system does not require much technique as it is a whole tip that is applied without the need for filing or building up with gel.
How do you conclude that it does not harden? All the products should remain sticky after being in the lamp—this is so that if you need to apply multiple layers of gel polish or other products, they can bind to the remaining layers on the nail. The only product that should not remain sticky after curing is the topcoat.
A reinforcement until the nail grows out. For reinforcement, we recommend Builder Gel or Rubber Base. If you want to use tips, we recommend Square nail tips for you. These adhere better.
We clean our brushes in Gel wipe.
Over the past 18 years, it has been a priority for us to limit the use of acrylates in our products, and we have always complied with EU recommendations, consistently keeping to the lowest end of the spectrum. However, there will always be a risk of developing allergies. That said, at Nail4You, we have always focused on ensuring that our products are only suitable for adults over 18 years old. Our products are made without HEMA, DI-HEMA, formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and a wide range of other chemicals.
Allergies are a widespread and often misunderstood condition that affects millions of people worldwide. From pollen in the air to food and cosmetics, allergens can be found in many forms and cause a variety of symptoms in those who are sensitive to them. Fortunately, allergies to nail products are rare.
It is important to understand that the nail primarily consists of keratin and is therefore dead tissue. This means that it is not possible to develop an allergy from direct contact of the products with the nail itself. Allergic reactions only occur upon contact with the skin around the nail. Acrylates, which are necessary for gel products to cure, are typically what can cause allergies. However, it is important to note that once the products are cured, they no longer pose any risk of allergic reactions.
- Choose More Gentle Products
Our products are made without HEMA, DI-HEMA, formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and a wide range of other chemicals. Many of these chemicals should only be used by professionals, and fortunately, we have legislation that states a product must be labeled "for professional use only" and cannot be sold to private individuals. So, this is a label to look out for. - Avoid Contact with the Skin
Try to minimize skin contact with the products and remove the product immediately if you accidentally touch the skin. As mentioned earlier, the nail is made of keratin, and the nail plate is therefore dead. This means that it is not possible to develop an allergy from contact with the products on the nail. - Ensure Good Hygiene
Wipe the nail with Gel Wipe and wash your hands thoroughly after using the products. - Apply the Product as Directed
We recommend that you go through our free online course before starting your nail journey. You can find the course by clicking here. - Ensure the Product is Fully Cured
Our LED lamps are all over 48W and contain a large number of diodes that ensure the product is fully cured. It can be beneficial to give the product an extra 30 seconds.
