Nail polish pregnant - This is what you need to be aware of!
Can I use nail polish when pregnant?
You are standing with a pregnancy test which shows the long-awaited two lines: You have become pregnant. But what are the recommendations when it comes to the beauty and care of one's nails?
As a pregnant woman, it is recommended to cut back on the use of cosmetics and care products. This also applies to nail polish. But is there nail polish that is safe for pregnant women?
In this post, we inform you about what you should be aware of in connection with nail polish and pregnancy, or if you want to become pregnant.
That's what the Danish Health Authority says
You have probably heard many people talk about how important it is to minimize the use of unwanted chemicals and hormone-disrupting substances in connection with pregnancy.
As a good rule of thumb, the Danish Health Authority and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency recommend minimizing the use of creams, cosmetics and perfumes during pregnancy. You can advantageously choose products that are certified with the Swan label, the Flower or other scheme, which indicates that the product contains a minimum of perfume and chemicals.
At Nail4You, we have control over our products. They contain a minimum of chemicals, while also being HEMA-free. We take your health seriously, and you can therefore safely use our gel polishes when you are pregnant.
Can I get my nails done while pregnant?
Do I have to do without my beautiful nails, which put the finishing touch on any outfit? If you are used to doing gel polish nails at home, it is only natural that many questions arise as a pregnant woman.
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency does not endorse and advise against the use of gel polish. They recommend minimizing the use of chemicals during pregnancy. Therefore, use your common sense and choose nail products that are traded within the EU and that contain a minimum of chemicals.
Nail changes during pregnancy
The body goes through a lot of development when you carry a child in your belly. The increased amount of hormones in the body affects your nails, among other things. Some pregnant women find that the nails become more porous and have an easier time loosening.
You may also find that transverse furrows form in the nails. Most of all, you probably want to camouflage your nails - and especially if you are used to fixing your nails at home on a regular basis.
As long as you choose your products carefully, nothing will happen if you varnish your nails with a round of gel polish. And this is where Nail4You comes into the picture. Our products are carefully formulated so that they contain a minimum of chemistry, which means that you can safely use gel polish during pregnancy.
